Why Modeo

Modeo is an independent consultancy in Paris, 100% focused on data and AI. Its 30+ data and AI engineers have built more than 100 data platforms for large enterprises, mid-size companies and start-ups, from the first audit to production.

Matthieu Rousseau, who founded Modeo, comes from data engineering and DataOps. For years, his teams built on Airflow and Dagster. After comparing them with Kestra on customer projects, they moved their customers to Kestra because it was easier to run and maintain.

What Modeo Builds with Kestra

Modeo designs, deploys and evolves modern data platforms, and Kestra orchestrates every data flow in them:

• Audit and architecture. They map the constraints (sovereignty, GDPR, cost, carbon footprint) and compare scenarios from ingestion to activation, with Kestra as the single place to trigger, monitor and rerun every job.
• End-to-end data platforms. Ingestion, warehouse, SQL transformations with dbt, observability. Flows are declared in YAML, versioned in Git and triggered on a schedule or by events.
• DataOps. CI/CD, template projects, quality tests. Every pipeline follows the same review and deployment cycle, so adding a new source becomes routine instead of a project.
• Legacy migration. Cron scripts, aging ETL, legacy orchestrators, migrated one use case at a time with no service interruption.
• Training. So teams can run the platform and launch new use cases on their own.

Kestra is an open source orchestrator born in France. It fits naturally into the sovereign data stacks Modeo builds for French and European organizations.
