Automated AI Security Vulnerability Triage and Alerting

Automatically triage GitHub security vulnerabilities, assess risk with OpenAI, and alert SecOps teams via Slack using Kestra.

How it works

This workflow monitors GitHub security advisories for a specified repository. An integrated Python script analyzes each advisory against an LLM (gpt-4o-mini) to evaluate true business impact, categorize priority levels (P0-P3), and prescribe immediate actionable remediation steps. If high or critical vulnerabilities are discovered, an incident alert is dispatched to Slack.

What you get

  • Structured CSV report containing prioritized security advisories and AI-recommended remediations.
  • Automated Slack alert for urgent vulnerabilities requiring engineer attention.

Who it's for

  • SecOps and DevOps engineers looking to automate CVE / vulnerability alert routing.
  • Software teams managing multiple open-source and proprietary dependencies.

Why orchestrate this with Kestra

Kestra lets you easily connect external APIs (GitHub), containerized Python analytics, OpenAI intelligence, and alert endpoints (Slack) with zero complex infrastructure.

Prerequisites

  • An OpenAI API key.
  • A Slack Incoming Webhook URL.

Secrets

  • OPENAI_API_KEY: Your OpenAI API Key.
  • SLACK_WEBHOOK_URL: Your Slack Incoming Webhook URL.

Quick start

Set the required secrets in your Kestra namespace and trigger execution.

How to extend

You can extend this flow to automatically open Jira tickets or GitHub pull requests with patched dependency versions.
